I have always sought ways to motivate myself. I don’t know whether this comes naturally to the people I know who seem successful, or whether they, like me, get caught up in distractions, other projects, or procrastinating by getting very busy (just not at the right thing).
Well, whether they do, or not, I find that I have to stay on top of this for myself. So I found a great book that does exactly that. It’s not meant to be a book you read for understanding, or for working out a logical plan. This is a book that is directed at your heart, at your gut, at the lifeforce inside you.
It’s called Do The Work, and it was written by a guy who has written some screenplays, some of which you might know.
I found that this book is perfect for me, although I will certainly struggle to meet its challenge. It does not wax poetic. It’s reads like a coach, pushing you to do more than you thought you could do.
It’s my intention to live with this book as my tao, at least for as long as it takes to prove it works or doesn’t, which will be a while.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
